PROFESSIONAL SEMINARS DEVELOPED AND PRESENTED
In cooperation with the State of California Department of Real Estate developed "Seminar In Continuing Education for the Real Estate Professional". Presented at West Valley College through the College Community Services. The program consisted of 45 hours of courses in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Seminar coordination duties included curriculum approval.
Courses included: "Trust Deeds, Foreclosure Bankruptcy", "Real Estate Exchanges", "Qualified Installment Sales", "Ethics, Professional Conduct, and Legal Aspects of Real Estate", "Syndication", "Real Estate Purchase Contracts Protect Buyer and Seller", "Development", "Residential Property Management", and "Tenant vs. Landlord Rights", "Real Estate Investment and Tax Effects", “Current Economic Factors and Their Effect on Real Estate", "Creative Financing and the Tax Considerations for the Seller", and "Retail/Commercial".
Seminars included: "Current Economic Factors and Their Effect on Real Estate" at West Valley College in conjunction with the California Department of Real Estate Continuing Division and "Appraisal Update, Use of the new Uniform Residential Appraisal Report (U.R.A.R.)".

- Author of the book: California Real Estate Appraisal: Residential Properties, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions, 1972, 1978, 1987, 1995 (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.; Prentice Hall, Inc.) This book is the first book on California Real Estate appraisal and the major text that was used in over 70 colleges in California for the introductory classes in real estate appraisal.
- Author of the book: Residential Real Estate Appraisal: An Introduction to Real Estate Appraising, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd editions, (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.; Prentice Hall, Inc.) Published for distribution throughout the United States and Canada in 1980, 1988, and 1998, and India in 2005.
- Author of the booklet for certification by the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers.
- Author of the book: Appraisal Reports, Samples and Guidelines for Practicing Appraisers, 1996 (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.; Prentice Hall, Inc.) This book was published for national distribution.

This book was published as the teaching supplement to the California Real Estate Appraisal: Residential Properties textbook.
- Co-Author of the book “Residential Market Analysis & Highest and Best Use” along with Dan Tosh published by Ashley Crown Systems Inc in 2008 and used nationally by Allied Schools in the appraisal courses.
- Co-Author of the book “Residential Sales Comparison and Income Approaches” along with Lee R. Hess published by Ashley Crown Systems Inc in 2008 and used nationally by Allied Schools in the appraisal courses.
ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE
Twenty-Five years as chairman of the Real Estate Department of West Valley Community College, Saratoga, California. In charge of development and directing the most complete college real estate program in the United States, surpassing UCLA’s program, consisting of 28 separate courses presented in 40 different classes and employing 30 part-time professional instructors.
TEACHING AND RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Twenty-Five years as instructor of Real Estate Appraising, Real Estate Economics, Real Estate Investments and Principles of Real Estate at West Valley College, Saratoga, California.
- Twenty years as evening instructor for Foothill College District at Foothill and De Anza colleges in Real Estate Appraising and Real Estate Economics.
- Guest lecturer at University of California - Berkeley, San Jose City College, Stanford University, and San Jose State University. Speaker before local realty boards and seminars on “Economic Effect of Freeways on Real Property", "Real Estate Appraising", and "Successful Techniques in Analysis of Commercial Retail Properties for Investment Purposes".
- Thirteen years as Professor Emeritus Instructor of Real Estate Appraisal at West Valley College.
