George H. Miller (August 1927 - March 2012) was the founder of George H. Miller Associates, which has been serving Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Mateo and adjacent counties for over 40 years. Mr. Miller had extensive experience in all aspects of real estate appraisal, he developed a leading Real Estate and Appraisal education program at local colleges where he was a professor, he wrote several books on California real estate appraisal which were in print for over 35 years, and he helped train and inspire hundreds of Bay Area real estate professionals.
The legacy and experience of George H. Miller Associates is still being provided to Bay Area clients in need of real estate appraisal and consulting services through a partnership of three of his principal associate appraisers, all of whom are California State Certified General Appraisers.
Michael L. Angles
Mike has been a professional real estate appraiser since 2002. Mike’s appraisal experience includes single family homes, multi-family homes and condominiums; commercial office, retail and industrial properties; residential and commercial land. Valuations have been established for traditional lending purposes, as well as retrospective appraisals and stepped up basis for marital dissolution, intra-family transfers, and estate valuation purposes. Mike has also been an instructor at West Valley College where he taught basic and advanced appraisal courses. Mike’s experience before real estate appraisal includes over 20 years at Hewlett-Packard, where he managed IT and Facilities departments. His education includes BA and MBA degrees. Yin has been a professional real estate appraiser since 2007. He also obtained his California Broker's license in 2007. Yin's appraisal experience includes single family homes, multi-family homes, condominiums and apartment buildings; commercial office, retail, and industrial properties; residential and commercial land; review appraisals; and appraisals for litigation. Valuations have been provided for residential finance, as well as retrospective appraisals, trust and estate valuation, marital dissolution, intra-family transfers, bankruptcy, easement and right of way, and diminution of value. Yin has also been a guest lecturer at West Valley College in the areas of investment, finance and statistics. Yin has also worked as an Engineer and Engineering Director for major corporations including Hewlett-Packard, Kodak, Quantum and Maxtor. His education includes BS and MS degrees. Matt has been a professional real estate appraiser since 2002. He also obtained his California Broker's license in 2005. Matt's appraisal experience includes single family homes, condominiums, duplex, fourplex and larger apartment buildings, as well as appraisal of raw land and commercial properties, and review appraisals. Valuations have been established for traditional lending purposes, as well as retrospective appraisals and stepped up basis for marital dissolution, intra-family transfers, and estate valuation purposes. Matt has also been an instructor at West Valley College where he has taught a beginning appraisal course. Matt has also worked as a Technical Manager and Engineer for major corporations including General Electric and EDS. His education includes a BS degree. As of November 15, 2012, Mr. Boxberger joined the Santa Clara County Assessor's office as a commercial property appraiser. Employment policies at the assessor's office prohibit him from accepting private practice appraisal assignments.
